The relatives of the three Mauritian fishermen whose boat has drifted towards Madagascar are still worried, although they have been informed that the fishermen are on the Big Island.
Alan Utile, Simon Pierre Louise and Jimmy Fidèle had left Mauritius on Friday 29 September for a fishing trip off TrouauxBiches. But their skipper fell ill and their boat drifted towards Madagascar. The Mauritians have been in the gendarmerie of Vatomandry for two days. They were rescued by villagers.
Georgette Useful, the mother of one of the fishermen, alerted the police of RoseHill this Sunday morning. She also wished to alert the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the procedure for the return of fishermen to Mauritius.
“They went fishing on Friday, September 29th. I think they had a problem with their boat. I have problems with the knee but I nevertheless informed the police of RoseHill. We do not know what else to do？”said Georgette Utile on Radio Plus on Sunday (October 8th).
